BMBBD Participation in World Environment Day

The global climate crisis and its long-term impact on the environment are becoming more evident each day.

Therefore, if we do not take meaningful action to protect and preserve nature, we will lose the Earth as our home.

One of the actions to raise awareness is through the Commemoration of World Environment Day.

Held every year on June 5, the occasion serves as a vital reminder that the responsibility to protect the planet lies with all of us, including those in the industrial sector.

This annual moment is more than a ceremonial date; it is a moral call to restore our relationship with the environment.

This year, the national theme is “Stop Plastic Pollution,” with the mining sector sub-theme, “Plant More Trees and Stop Plastic Pollution.”

Tree Planting Initiative

As a mining company committed to environmental stewardship, BMBBD actively took part in the commemoration by organizing a series of educational, participatory, and action-driven ecological activities.

One of the key initiatives was a mass tree-planting activity, carried out as a symbol of the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability around its operational areas.

The event involved a broad range of participants, including all BMBBD employees, partners, and representatives from nearby communities.

Beyond symbolic gestures, this effort reflects BMBBD’s dedication to upholding responsible and sustainable mining practices.

A Commitment to the Environment

BMBBD reaffirms its identity as a mining company that prioritizes not only productivity but also social and environmental responsibility, through its participation in World Environment Day.

The goals of this initiative include:

  • Raising awareness among employees and stakeholders about the importance of environmental conservation
  • Cultivating a culture of environmental care through actions at work and within surrounding communities
  • Supporting national efforts to reduce plastic pollution and optimize land reclamation in post-mining areas.

BMBBD hopes the spirit of this observance will go beyond the ceremony, inspiring a long-term collective movement to protect the environment, both within the mining sector and beyond.
